Charged for carpet that was already old?

Things wear out. Drag the age and watch a prorated estimate fall against what you were charged. It's an estimate, not a legal ceiling, and every useful-life figure shows where it came from.

They charged $906. Prorated estimate ≈$544. Gap: $362

How it's worked out: charge × (useful life − age) ÷ useful life. Your state's wear-and-tear rule sits next to this on the state page. Prorated estimate using a typical useful life; your state or lease may differ.

Rent Splitter

The person in the small room shouldn't quietly pay for the big one.

Drag Room A's size. 40% of the rent covers shared space and is split evenly; the rest follows each room's floor area, with a private bath counted at 1.25×. You can change all of it.

Recurring rent at the agreed split, utilities that account for who was home, the roommate-leaving settlement, and the deposit split when one cheque comes back with two names on it. Import from Splitwise or Spliit in one step.

How we know

Every date shows its working.

States differ in what starts the clock, which days count and what you must do first. We store all three per state, quote the statute, and leave a gap rather than guess.
