Re: Demand for the return of my security deposit Rental: [rental address]

Dear [landlord's name],

I moved out of the rental above on [move-out date] and paid a security deposit of [deposit amount].

As of the date of this letter I have not received the deposit or an itemized list of deductions.

For your reference, NRS 118A.242(6) provides: “If the landlord fails or refuses to return the remainder of a security deposit within 30 days after the end of a tenancy, the landlord is liable to the tenant for damages: (a) In an amount equal to the entire security deposit; and (b) For a sum to be fixed by the court of not more than the amount of the entire security deposit.”

Please send the deposit to: [address for payment] by November 8, 2026.

I would prefer to resolve this directly with you. I have kept copies of my lease, my move-out photos and this letter.

Sincerely, [your name]
