Forwarding address: the Maryland letter

Gives the landlord your new address in writing and asks for the deposit and an itemized list of any deductions. When: On move-out day, or before. In Texas it is the step that makes the refund due; in Michigan you have 4 days after you leave. It cites Md. Code, Real Prop. §8-203(e), with the statute text checked 2026-10-05.

I am sending this notice by certified mail at least 15 days before my moving date, so that I may be present at the inspection of the premises under Maryland Real Property §8-203(f)(1). Please tell me the time and date of the inspection.

I paid a security deposit of [deposit amount]. Please return it, with an itemized list of any deductions, to the address above.
