Re: Notice of intent to vacate Rental: [rental address]

Dear [landlord's name],

This is my written notice that I will end my tenancy at the rental above and vacate on [last day of the tenancy]. I will return the keys on [key return date].

California law (Cal. Civ. Code §1946) sets a default notice period for a month-to-month tenancy: At least 30 days' written notice, given at any time. If my lease sets a different period, I am giving this notice under the lease.

Please tell me how to arrange the move-out inspection, as I would like to be present.

Thank you.

Sincerely, [your name]
