No landlord pays us. We never send your details to a landlord, never ask for your SSN or bank login, and cite the statute behind every rule. How we make money
Security deposit · Louisiana

We haven't finished checking Louisiana's deposit rule.

Still being checked. We publish a deadline only after reading the official statute text and quoting it. Until then we won't guess a date: a wrong deadline is worse than none. This page isn't indexed by search engines.

Deposit deadlines differ in what starts the clock (moving out, handing back possession, a forwarding address, a written demand), which days count, and what you have to do first. The official statute text for these jurisdictions is published by a commercial host or a script-only site we couldn't read and quote verbatim on 2026-10-05. They stay 'still being checked' until we do.

What you can do today

  • Give your landlord a forwarding address in writing on move-out day and keep proof of sending. Our forwarding-address letter works in any state.
  • Photograph every room after you clean, before you return the keys, with the condition report.
  • Write down the date and the way you returned the keys.
  • Read the statute yourself on the official site: Louisiana State Legislature.

We don't send any email yet: there's no email provider switched on. Your request still counts toward which state we check next. We use your address only for this.
